Local Roadworks

KNOWLE LANE (D184), CRANLEIGH - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2017

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Knowle Lane (D184), Cranleigh that extends from its junction with Cranleigh High Street (B2128), southwards for a distance of 200 metres. The Orders is required to enable the connection of utilities services on behalf of Berkeley Homes (Southern) Ltd. and associated contactors. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 07:30 and 18:00 as soon as possible within the eighteen month period of operation of the Temporary Order, which commence on 11th August 2017. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and advanced notification will be given. The temporary closure which is anticipated will be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times via the signed pedestrian diversion route. It will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the works area whilst works are in operation however access for residences and businesses on the affected length of Knowle Lane (D184), Cranleigh, including access for emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times from either the northern or southern end of this temporary road closure via the signed diversion route which will be Cranleigh High Street, Elmbridge Road, Horsham Road, Alfold By-Pass, Wildwood Lane and Knowle Lane. Cyclists and equestrians will be required to follow the vehicular diversion route or dismount and follow the pedestrian diversion route.

ALFOLD ROAD (D182), CRANLEIGH - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2017

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Alfold Road, (D182), Cranleigh that extends from its junction with Elmbridge Road (B2130), southwards for a distance of 100 metres. The Orders is required to enable the connection of utilities services on behalf of Berkeley Homes (Southern) Ltd. and associated contactors. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 07:30 and 18:00 as soon as possible within the eighteen month period of operation of the Temporary Order, which commence on 4th September 2017. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and advanced notification will be given. The temporary closure which is anticipated will be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

It will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the works area whilst works are in operation however no sole access will be affected. Access for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times via the signed diversion route which will be Elmbridge Road, Horsham Road, Alfold By-Pass and Alfold Road. Cyclists and equestrians will be required to follow the vehicular diversion route or dismount and follow the pedestrian diversion route. Access to Littlemead Brook via Alfold By-Pass will be unaffected.
