Chairman - Cllr Brian Ellis
Brian
moved to Cranleigh in 1975 and retired in 1993 after 35 years in the IT
industry. He was elected to Cranleigh Parish & Waverley Borough
Councils in 1995 & has served as Parish Chairman or Vice Chairman
for the past 7 yrs. He was Mayor of Waverley in 2002-2003 & is married to Patricia, with 4 daughters.

Vice Chairman - Cllr Brian Cheesman
Brian was born
in Cranleigh & was first elected to the Parish Council in 1976, so
this year he celebrates 35 yrs serving Cranleigh as a council member.
He has recently been Chairman of the Council for three years, and is
currently its Vice Chairman and is the Council’s only Independent
member. Brian lives in the High Street with his wife Pam. And is an
active member of Cranleigh Baptist Church. He has interests in many local organisations, has been a governor of two local schools and, before his recent retirement, was a member of Cranleigh Chamber of Trade.

Cllr Brian Arendell
I moved to Cranleigh in 1969 when I married my wife Pauline and where we raised our two daughters.
As a qualified accountant I have always worked locally - in Godalming, Horsham & finally in Guildford where I was a School Manager at the University of Surrey, retiring in 2005.
I have been a School Governor for 13 years and became a Parish Councillor in 2007 and have interests in many local organizations including Cranleigh’s Rotary Club and Probus.

Cllr John Bainbridge
John has lived in Cranleigh for some 36 years. He and Marilynne have two adult sons and live close to the centre of the village. John is a retired Merchant Banker, a Freeman of the City of London and a Past Master of the City livery company, the Worshipful Company of Fuellers. He is a member of the Cranleigh History Society, The Army & Navy Club (aka “the Rag”) and Surrey County Cricket Club.

Cllr Mrs Patricia Ellis
Patricia is a Waverley Borough Councillor. She & her husband Brian live in
the Guildford Road and they have four grown-up daughters. She is keenly
interested in protecting the many beautiful attributes of Cranleigh
& regularly organises ‘litter picks’. Patricia is involved in many local voluntary organisations.

Cllr Mary Foryszewski
Mary has lived in Waverley
for 17 years and moved to Cranleigh in 2006. She has worked as a
councillor for
eight years, four years as a town councillor for Haslemere and four
years as a
Waverley Borough councillor. Married to Stefan for 23 years and has two
grown up sons. Mary enjoyed a career in the NHS for more than sixteen
years, working at a number of hospitals including Cranleigh
Hospital and Farnham
Road Hospital
in Guildford. As well as being a keen gardener, Mary’s main interests
are
in serving the local community, in particular supporting the youth; she
was
treasurer and managed a youth boys football teams for 8 years as well
as
setting up and managing a girls’ football team. Mary was chairman of
Sport Haslemere and a school Governor
at Graywood school. She is enthusiastic about preserving the local
environment,
animal welfare and trains and works, with dogs of any size, breed age,
specialising in dogs with behavioural problems. Mary feels privileged
to live in the beautiful village of Cranleigh and plans to continue
work to
support the local community.

Cllr Mr David Gill
David has lived in Cranleigh since 1977. Married with two grown up sons, his career has been in Human Resource Management within the construction and facilities management industries.
Recently retired from full time employment, he is a member of The Rotary Club of Cranleigh as well as being a Trustee of several local charities.
David’s interests include tennis, cycling, walking and helping to preserve what is so good about Cranleigh as a great place to live.

Cllr Ken Reed
Ken Reed and his wife Ruth first moved to Waverley in 1988 and relocated to Cranleigh in 2002 when Ken took early retirement from his job as a director of an International IT and Business Consulting Company. Since coming to Cranleigh Ken has always taken an active part in the local community.
Ken represented Cranleigh East on Waverley Borough Council between 2004 and 2011 and has been a Cranleigh Parish Councillor since 2004. He has particularly focussed on enhancing the services and facilities provided within the village and working to ensure the development of safe and sustainable communities for both young and old.
Ken is a member of the Cranleigh Initiative and the organising council of the Cranleigh Show, and in the Autumn of 2010 was part of the management committee that organised and ran the first Cranleigh Music Festival in aid of Local Youth.
Up to 2011 Ken has been the Vice Chair of the Finance & General Purposes and the Cemetery Committees and a member of the Village Hall Committee.

Cllr Ruth Reed
Ruth moved to Cranleigh in 2002 while she was working for MP Sue Doughty as her caseworker. She has helped the numerous constituents who contacted Sue with their various issues.
Her career in teaching, education management and her role as School Governor has reinforced her commitment to the community. A Council member for the Cranleigh and South East Agricultural Society, Ruth is working on a project with local schools to link their work to the countryside, especially the woodland.
Ruth is on the electoral role of St Nicolas Parish Church, is a life member of the Cranleigh History Society and a founder member of the Surrey Hills Society. Her many and charitable interests include the preservation of public open spaces and amenities.

Cllr Janet Somerville
I live in Cranleigh with my husband, Murray, who is a retired electrical research engineer. We have a daughter and a son.
Our daughter and her husband have two children, both at school in this area, and our son, who is a microchip designer, lives in Wiltshire.
I graduated at Durham University and Murray and I used to live in Northumberland where we both served on Councils.
I am very interested in local matters, and my wish is to be involved in and to serve my community to the best of my ability.
My main leisure time interests are travel, history, current affairs and church matters. I am a member of the congregation of St Nicholas' Church in Cranleigh.

Cllr Robert Wilson
Bob Wilson retired from the Band HM Scots Guards in 1996 and moved to Cranleigh, shortly after he started teaching at Cranleigh School as the Head of Brass.
Since then he has recently been appointed the Bandmaster of both the senior school and the prep school. Approximately five years ago, Bob became the school Community Officer,
through which he has forged stronger links with the community, both young and old.
He has recently become a member of the Parish Council where he is the Councillor for the Elmbridge Ward.
